PURPOSE:
Provides day to day direction to project teams of internal staff. Allocates resources across various complex projects to ensure completion of project goals within budget. Additionally responsible for managing and overseeing the system development process including the strategic plan, systems analysis, technical design, coding, testing, turnover to production, acceptance criteria and review schedules. Works extensively with many internal customers, staff, and management across and within the business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides input to the creation of the statement of work, including project requirements, risk, time and cost of project and identifies the technical approach and key deliverables of given project.
- Develops the project managerial approach including project team roles, reporting structure, and develops the plan including team, skills required, and project acceptance procedures. Provides day to day direction of project team members.
- Responsible for managing and overseeing the system development process including the strategic plan, systems analysis, technical design, coding, testing, turnover to production, acceptance criteria and review schedules.
- Participate in support of production system (24 X 7) for area of expertise.
- Provides overall budget development and responsibility for multiple projects.
- Maintain extensive knowledge and expertise in multiple business processes and/or technical areas.
- Responsible for developing technical or business process expertise through mentoring and team coaching.
- Identifies and assists in facilitation of process improvements regarding IS internal processes.
- Works with management to manage supplier and internal customer relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration, or similar. Or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 10 years progressive responsibility within Information Technology or related field, including 2 years as Associate Project Manager of complex projects involving resources from multiple functions or business units.
