Carlisle Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our school health team beginning August 25, 2025. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, primary and emergency health care to students, working under the supervision of the School Nurse, Principal, and Director of Student Services.
This position involves both direct and indirect nursing care, health maintenance, education, and social-emotional support—while contributing to a safe and healthy learning environment. This is a 35 hour per week position, during school days.
Key Responsibilities: The LPN will work collaboratively with our school RN with the following responsibilities:
•Provide nursing care based on student and staff needs, in accordance with Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing standards.
•Follow all health policies of the district, MA Department of Public Health, and DESE.
•Assist with the management of chronic health needs (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies).
•Administer medication in compliance with 105 CMR 210.
•Deliver first aid and emergency care for illness or injury.
•Notify families of illness/injuries occurring during school hours.
•Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records.
•Support student screenings and communicable disease prevention efforts.
•Educate students, families, and staff on infection control practices.
•Communicate relevant medical information to teachers and staff.
•Participate in field trips as needed (in line with DPH guidelines).
•Perform skilled nursing procedures safely and effectively.
•Maintain and organize medical equipment and supplies.
•Other duties as assigned by the School RN, Director of Student Services, Principal, or School Nurse.
