Carlow University’s College of Health and Wellness Associate of Science in Surgical Technology Program is seeking a full-time (12-month) faculty member to serve as the Program Director for the Oakland campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, beginning on May 15, 2025. The full-time, non-tenure-track faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses in the Surgical Technology Program, including Clinical Externship I and II, and will serve as the lead advisor/coordinator of the Program. Faculty responsibilities include teaching, service, and scholarship. The Associate of Science Degree in Surgical Technology Program has a written agreement with the UPMC School of Surgical Technology, which provides surgical technology labs for the students at the Energy Innovation Center. The Carlow University Program Director will serve as the primary liaison between Carlow University and the UPMC School of Surgical Technology educators to ensure the program's success, which involves overseeing the day-to-day management of the non-clinical and clinical aspects of the program and student advisement. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with educational preparation and experience. Required Experience/Qualifications: * Master of Science Degree in Nursing or related Allied Healthcare * A credential in the surgical technology field from a nationally recognized and accredited credentialing agency (CST, NCCT). * A minimum of three years of operating room experience in the scrub role within the past five years or three years teaching in the field of surgical technology. * Demonstrated proficiency in teaching and use of educational technology in an academic setting. * Evidence of leadership experience. * Research or scholarship interest in healthcare.
