This individual will be responsible for teaching physical education to students in grades PreK-8 while also serving as the Athletic Coordinator, overseeing CLS athletics and collaborating closely with University Athletics to enhance student opportunities and programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Physical Education (PreK-8):
- Design and implement a developmentally appropriate PE curriculum that fosters physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Create engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate activities that promote motor skill development, coordination, and lifelong fitness habits.
- Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and families.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate movement and wellness education into the broader school curriculum.
- Maintain positive and proactive communication with families.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Read and stay abreast of current topics in education, particularly as they pertain to Physical Education
- Develop positive and proactive classroom management to create a culture for learning.
- Develop professional relationships with colleagues, other agencies, and programs.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Prepare and distribute required reports in a timely fashion meeting required timelines.

- Oversee and manage CLS athletics programs, ensuring alignment with school values and student development goals.
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and facilities for practices, games, and tournaments.
- Serve as the liaison between CLS Athletics and University Athletics, fostering collaboration and student enrichment opportunities.
- Recruit and support coaches and volunteers to ensure high-quality athletic experiences.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, league regulations, and safety protocols.
- Promote sportsmanship, leadership, and team-building skills among student-athletes.
- Advocate for athletics within the school community, encouraging participation and engagement.
- Write grant proposals to gain funding for programs and instructional activities.
- Other duties as assigned by administration.
- Bachelor's Degree in in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching certification (or eligibility) in Physical Education for PreK-8.
- PA Teaching Certification Required
- Experience incorporating current technology into lessons daily.
- Prior classroom teaching experience preferred.
- PA Teaching Certification Required, dependent on grade level taught.
