| 1. To define the role of paramedics employed by the hospital in the hospital setting. | |||||||
| 2. The Paramedic position is a supportive role that facilitates the delivery of excellent care to our patients through clerical, clinical and receptionist roles. | |||||||
| 3. Should only practice within scope and abide by hospital policy. | |||||||
| Position Qualifications | |||||||
| Education: | |||||||
| 1. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, peers, physicians and visitors. Knowledge of accepted paramedic standards and proactive. | |||||||
| 2. Knowledge of basic pharmacology | |||||||
| Experience | |||||||
| 1. Desired characteristics include at least three (3) years of field and or flight experience as a licensed paramedic. | |||||||
| 2. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. | |||||||
| 3. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress. | |||||||
| 4. Possess the ability to learn medical and pharmacological terminology. | |||||||
| Licenses/Certifications: | |||||||
| 1. Must hold a current license to practice as a Registered Paramedic in the State of New Mexico. | |||||||
| 2. BLS,PALS, ACLS required prior to hire | |||||||
