As an Accounting Specialist - Billing, you will provide end-to-end invoice preparation while accurately and efficiently delivering invoices and other reports in a timely manner. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating effectively and delivering exceptional service to our legal team.
Job Responsibilities
- Generate and distribute Prebills to Billing Attorneys. Edit Prebills via Prebill Viewer and Aderant based on the request from the Billing Attorneys.
- Generate a high volume of complex client invoices via Aderant for Billing Attorney.
- Ensure that all invoices are compliant with the firm and/or client billing guidelines and all required supporting documentation is compiled prior to submission. Monitor and immediately address any invoice rejections, reductions, and those needing appeals.
- Generate and distribute monthly client statement.
- Prepare ad hoc reports as requested including audit reports, summary of billed and unbilled fees and costs.
- Convert manual invoices to Aderant invoices and work together with Cash Receipts to ensure proper and timely application of client's payments
- Send out monthly Accounts Receivable and Work in Process reports.
- Send out monthly bills directly to client or Billing Attorney electronically or manually via paper copies as directed.
- Respond to billing inquiries from internal and external sources.
- Undertake special projects and ad hoc reports as needed and/or requested.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: Minimum 3 years accounting billing experience.

- Very accurate with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

- Proactive in identifying billing issues and able to determine when to escalate to supervisor with possible solutions for consideration.
- Able to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships within all levels of the firm.
