Our practice areas include Real Estate and Land Use, Corporate and Business Formation, Tax and Estate Planning, and Civil Litigation.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paralegal to be an integral part of our litigation section.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, memorandum, etc.
- Managing and performing e-discovery and document productions, coordinating document review with opposing party ensuring document integrity is maintained.
- Performing simple research - legislative, government agency, court records, and legal reference materials online or in person as needed.
- Assisting attorney in preparing for trial and at trial.
- Calendaring and reminding attorneys of events and deadlines.
- Organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files utilizing a document management system.
- Communicating with courts, government agencies, clients and others by phone and email.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum five (5) years paralegal experience in civil litigation. Knowledge of Circuit and Federal Court Rules and Civil Procedure.
Certification: Paralegal degree or certification.
Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines.
- Exceptional proofreading skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal documents and correspondence.
- Computer literate - skilled in e-discovery software and/or willing to learn new applications. MS Word - Intermediate to Advanced skills; Excel - Basic- Intermediate; Basic level Outlook and PDF software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong administrative and clerical skills to provide comprehensive support to attorneys.
- Dependable with strong work ethic.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively – a self-starter with ability to multitask.
Preferred but not required: knowledge of CompuLaw, CMS Aderant, NetDocuments, or other document management programs, and PowerPoint.
