Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Provide guidance on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize benefits for clients.
- Assist in the preparation of financial audits and ensure adherence to accounting standards.
- Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation for tax preparation and analysis.
- Utilize QuickBooks for managing financial records and transactions effectively.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact clients' financial situations.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Proven experience in tax accounting or a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with wills, trusts, estate law, private equity, payroll processes, and financial auditing is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks is highly desirable.
