Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Forester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about forest management and conservation, with a strong understanding of ecological principles and environmental law. As a Forester, you will play a crucial role in managing forest resources, conducting research, and implementing sustainable practices to ensure the health and productivity of forest ecosystems. We also require our foresters to be able to buy and manage private landowners Timber.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of forested areas to evaluate health, growth, and biodiversity.
- Collect and analyze data related to forestry practices, including soil quality, vegetation types, and wildlife habitats.
- Develop and implement ecological restoration plans to rehabilitate degraded forest areas.
- Collaborate with local farmers and garden initiatives to promote sustainable land use practices.
- Stay informed on environmental laws and regulations affecting forestry operations.
- Prepare reports and presentations based on research findings and data analysis.
- Engage with community stakeholders to promote awareness of forestry issues and conservation efforts.
- Able to help manage and help with timber harvesting operations
- Able to read and write private timber contracts.
- Having some understanding how to locate and run property lines.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in data collection and analysis within a forestry or environmental context is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ecological restoration techniques and practices is a plus.
- Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize information from various sources effectively.
- Knowledge of environmental law as it pertains to forestry management is beneficial.

Pay: $19.45 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
