What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist – 5 Axis – 2nd Shift position at Carlson Tool & Manufacturing?
We’re looking for experienced CNC Machinists to join our team of approx. 70 skilled machinists in our safe, friendly, and climate-controlled advanced manufacturing facilities.
Based in Cedarburg, WI, our team will look to you to support the manufacturing of high-quality parts including engine components, mold tooling, complex mechanisms, enclosures and more by creating CNC Mill programs, identifying required tooling, and maintaining accurate inspection documentation.
Starting pay ranges from $30 - $38/hr, plus an additional 10% shift differential with generous perks and benefits including:

What you need to succeed:
- 3 years of experience operating 5 Axis Machining Centers is required
- Ability to program using Mastercam is required.
- Ability to read and interpret part prints and technical drawings.
- Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to process precision parts from start to finish.
Responsibilities include:
- Set up, Program and Run 5-Axis Machining Centers.
- Review part specification and requirements.
- Setup work piece, create machining center sequence and tool selection.
- Produce parts within required tolerances and specifications.
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation using measuring instruments.
