Shift / Schedule : Pay Range : $ 20.00

Job Summary

Monitors night shift building security and ensures resident safety along with light maintenance duties

Essential Duties and responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Perform regular, random inspections of designated community areas to check for and remedy security breaches and verify that all perimeter doors are secured

Routinely monitor surveillance cameras to confirm that the community is safe and free of unwanted persons. Escort intruders from the property or call police

Be available and respond to the Emergency Answering Service to assist residents, fire, police, and other first-responders. Report incidents in a timely manner to the Executive Director and Plant Operations Manager

Assist the Maintenance Team in securing the building in the event of an emergency

Maintain calm and focus in stressful situations and comfort residents

Clean and stock common areas

Safe Working Program

Meet all training requirements within the first 30 days of employment

Follow standard precautions and practice all precautionary measures related to contagious disease and infections

Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for your job

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Requires patience in working with Senior Residents in the range of 60-100 plus years of age

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

May be required to work outdoors

May include exposure to dogs, cats or other pets

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand or kneel

The employee may be asked to occasionally lift / move 50 pounds or more

Qualifications

Communication Skills

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

Interact well with our Carlton Family - residents, family members, all staff members, future residents

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out written or oral instructions

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GRE. Or equivalent experience

According to Title 22 requirements, employee must be at least eighteen (18) years of age

Certificates, License, Registration

Current First Aid Certification (obtained through community)

DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance must be completed prior to working in community (obtained through community)

Health screening and negative TB test, must be less than six (6) months old. (obtained through community)

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses / incentives.
