Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic steel fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within our facility. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Duties
- Operate forklifts and cranes to move materials safely and efficiently throughout the factory and yard.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring that all items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Utilize a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory and manage orders accurately.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist in organizing the material layout for optimal workflow and storage efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to meet daily operational goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a factory and yard environment.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and cranes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) consistently throughout the shift.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent materials handling skills with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. .
