The role we are looking to fill involves working with our Oracle system, specifically Oracle 11g, and custom forms created for end-user interaction with the database. The responsibilities include the design, development, and delivery of reports, screens, and customer code within the Oracle environment. This individual will be an integral part of our small development team, collaborating closely with other developers, client personnel, and project managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write or revise source code to implement project specifications and adapt programs to new requirements or business processes
- Troubleshoot and debug both in-house and outsourced software applications to resolve or assist with resolving errors and inconsistencies
- Interact with end-users and management to gather new application or reporting requirements
- Respond to ad-hoc software support and reporting requests to address issues of smaller scope
- Document software development activities, both inline and outside of source code, to ensure that design and implementation decisions are clear and maintainable for other team members
- Perform use case and code coverage testing to ensure the accuracy of developed software
- Research and self-train to learn more about key business processes and software development tools, techniques, and methodologies in order to continually expand one’s scope of capability
- Other duties within the purpose, scope and spirit of the job as required by the supervisor

- Capability to break down problems analytically into manageable parts
- Ability to convey technical information unambiguously in both written and oral communication
- Conceptual understanding of relational database management systems with experience or coursework using a modern RDBMS indicating at least a novice level of SQL expertise
- Conceptual understanding of the web programming paradigm and the differences between client-side and server-side processing
- Proficiency with publication tools like MS Office for documentation and ad-hoc reporting
