Carman Bay Companies is a newly launching POS rental company focused on providing reliable, event-based point-of-sale solutions for festivals, trade shows, and pop-up events. As we establish our business, we are looking for a skilled POS Equipment Installation Technician to assist with both initial business process setup and ongoing event-based installations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to be involved in the early stages of a growing company.
We are seeking a contract POS Equipment Installation Technician who will not only handle event-based installations but also assist in setting up and optimizing the business’s POS equipment and processes. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to collaborate with the business owner to refine operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the business owner with initial setup and testing of POS hardware and software to be rented.
- Provide recommendations on best practices for equipment configuration and troubleshooting.
- Help establish efficient installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Transport, install, and configure POS terminals, card readers, printers, and networking equipment at event venues.
- Ensure seamless setup and operation of POS systems before events begin.
- Provide on-site technical support during events, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Dismantle and pack equipment at the event’s conclusion, ensuring proper care and inventory tracking.
- Train the business owner and future team members on basic POS operations and troubleshooting.
Ideal Candidate:
- Independent contractor or IT technician with experience in POS systems, networking, or hardware installation.
- Interested in working with a startup and helping to refine its operational processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure at live events.
- Comfortable lifting and transporting equipment (e.g., POS terminals, routers).
- Reliable transportation to and from event locations.
- Available on an as-needed basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
