ASSISTANT GOLF PROFESSIONAL

This Assistant Golf Professional position is responsible for ensuring quality golf services to members and guests. He/she will also help overseeing daily golf operations and assists with supervision of staff. They will also be responsible for assisting in the administration of the tournament program. This is managing the event calendar and tee sheet along with building out and running the events in Golf Genius. This position will also work with the First Assistant Golf Professional in overseeing the Outside Service Staff. There is opportunity to be involved in golf instruction with this position, especially in assisting the Director of Instruction with member programing. Specifically, we would like to find someone that could sink their teeth into creating a vibrant junior program.

Duties & Functions

Essential:

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner

• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with CVR standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel

• Comply at all times with CVR standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient golf operations

• Maintain a warm friendly demeanor at all times

• Ensure that employees are at all times attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow employees

• Provide professional golf instruction for members and guests as requested

• Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the golf shop

• Help maintain inventory and control of merchandise

• Help oversee daily golf operations according to standards including opening and closing procedures, merchandise and golf sales, merchandise inventory, and control of play

• Oversee, train, monitor, and evaluate golf personnel

• Perform minor equipment repair as needed

• Provide CPR/First Aid as necessary

• Attend meetings and training as required by management

• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience:

• Highschool Diploma or Equivalent

• Three years of progressive experience and in the golf industry.

• Active PGA Member or PGA Associate in good standing a plus.

• A knowledge of the fundamentals for running Golf Genius a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

• Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
