Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during patient procedures and providing excellent patient care. Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, passing instruments and materials as needed
- Take and develop dental x-rays as instructed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and taking impressions
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients and schedule follow-up appointments
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide oral health education materials
- Assist with front office tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or relevant work experience
- Current CPR certification
- Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation
- Knowledge of dental procedures and treatments, including pediatric dentistry
- Familiarity with dental systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic technique
