Kitchen Staff
Reports To: Store Manager
Job Overview:
Perform duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing of cooked items for all cold and hot menu item plates. Responsible for excelling in the preparation of Carmela´s menu offerings, making sure they reflect the pre-designed recipes, and maintaining a cost-conscious attitude by keeping strict control of ingredients and product waste.
Shall actively contribute to proposing new menu offerings while keeping a close eye on the performance of existing plates and proposing any adjustments that might be necessary. Shall be the custodian of all official norms to guarantee the correct and permanent application of food safety procedures. All personnel under his/her supervision shall be certified by the incumbent authority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply and enforce the established food safety rules and procedures in food preparation.
- Establish clear standards in food preparation in order to secure all menu offerings remain according to portion sizes and recipe specifications.
- Maintain a continuous assessment of the cost of the menu under his/her supervision.
- Keep Stocks and maintain sufficient levels of food products to aensurea smooth service performance.
- Maintain hygiene standards of kitchen and equipment
- Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Communicated effectively to ensure the timely preparation of orders
- Improve recipes and made minor operational corrections
- Organize and label all cooler, dry, and freezer storage areas
- Train, lea,d and mentor the line cooks under supervision
Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Essential experience as a line Prep (desirable)
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Possesses strong organizational and multi-task skills.
- Ability to adapt to a team-work oriented workforce, accept and follow indications from management
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds
- Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour plus tips
