Electrical Systems Technician Role:
As an Electrical Systems Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.
Responsibilities include inspecting, isolating, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical malfunctions and equipment using various test instruments.
You will maintain and repair electrical systems, test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency, fabricate electrical parts, and participate in the maintenance and operation of electrical tools and equipment used by the operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems including electric motors, electric controls, scales, and other electric equipment.
- Test and monitor electrical systems, equipment, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Ensure the proper function of electrical safety devices.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair new equipment and systems, train and learn requirements for adherence to NEC standards.
- Maintain appropriate service and repair records, including those necessary for MSHA compliance.
- Analyze and respond safely and appropriately to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
- Follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to conform to building and safety codes.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• The ability to complete and pass basic skills aptitude testing is essential.
• Participation in and completion of the 4-year company-provided Penn Foster Apprenticeship Program is mandatory.
• Completion and successful passage of all pre-employment requirements, including background checks, physical exams, and drug screens, are required.
