What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineering Co-Op position at Carmeuse Americas?
Co-Op Details
The Co-Op will commence in May 2025 and conclude in December 2025.
Main Responsibilities:
- To identify production bottlenecks, develop action plans, execute them, and assess the results.
- To assist Process Engineers with design support, research, and hands-on applications.
- To provide technical support to production, maintenance, environmental, and quality teams.
- To monitor process reliability and define improvements for payback analysis.
- To perform inspections during major outages of refractory and instrumentation, and prepare shutdown reports.
- To document problems related to processes or systems encountered by production teams. Review results with plant teams to initiate, recommend, implement, and/or provide solutions.
- To conduct process and energy audits to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- To track and analyze raw material usage for optimal fuel consumption and conduct cost-benefit calculations.
- To monitor stone quality, size, gradation, and fuel quality analysis and their impact on product quality.
- To prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and manuals.
- To undertake miscellaneous reporting as requested, including heat & mass balance, downtime entry, field measurements, daily/weekly production, and greenhouse gas expulsion.
