Lab Technician

Job Description

Job Summary: The Laboratory Technician is responsible for sampling, preparing, and testing limestone, raw materials, and associated products in a continuous plant manufacturing operation; data entry to SAP of all quality results from laboratory operation including but not limited to generation of certificates, customer reports and quality trend reports. Monitoring and calibrating laboratory equipment and reports of conditions that could lead to product nonconformity, report & correct equipment irregularities. Ensures housekeeping is maintained in the lab and sample preparations areas while following GLP, safety procedures and other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities:

• Daily product and bin testing and verification of product inventory to meet customer requirements.
• Fulfill customer requests – additional analysis, samples to be sent out.
• Process Testing (i.e., Fuel grinds, stone samples, briquette)
• Coordination of lab testing equipment maintenance, cleaning, and calibration.
• Heavy Equipment Operations
  
  

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree is preferred.
• Laboratory experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; Chemical background is a plus.
• Willingness to become Aggregate Certified
• Computer proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and ability to learn SAP.
• Prior experience in, or knowledge of, ISO is preferred.
• Strong math and organizational skills along with ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures.
• Statistical knowledge in chemistry & physics understanding.
