We are seeking a dynamic individual to join us as the Director of Social Impact Programs (SIP) at Carnegie Hall. This position is responsible for strategic and programmatic execution of WMI’s The B-Side, a new program that introduces young people (ages 14-22) to the business side of the music industry, and Future Music Project a music education and performance program in partnership with the Administration for Children’s Services. This includes overseeing all program administration, logistics and communications, spearheading program and curriculum development, and supporting Program Managers with program planning and evaluation. In addition, the Assistant Director will co-lead a program team including two managers and three associates. This position requires substantial collaboration with external stakeholders as well as Carnegie Hall internal teams, including Development, Marketing/PR, Education Administration, Educational Media & Technology, and Education Production.    Tasks & Responsibilities:   Program Development  Collaborate with Director on strategic planning and program visioning for Social Impact Program, including defining overall program goals, frameworks, and narratives in support of Carnegie Hall’s mission and WMI’s core values  Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, partners, and teaching artists to develop scaffolded, age-appropriate curriculum for SIP programs.   Support teaching artists in delivering the curriculum, youth development practice, and general classroom management.   Oversee the development of alumni programming and engagement Participate in relevant social innovation research, learning and application across SIP programming as it relates to the overall goals and vision of WMI social impact work as assigned. Advance recruitment strategy and program visibility in collaboration with Marketing and Public Relations teams.  Relationships/Partnerships  Support the development and maintenance of relationships with program participants and their parents/guardians.  Cultivate relationships with music industry professionals and/or companies (e.g. individual professionals, record labels, music studios, and venues) in an effort to create opportunities for guest speakers, field trips, and other program collaborations. Develop relationships with community organizations (e.g. credible messengers, social service organizations) in an effort to recruit young people to the program and provide support to current participants and/or alumni Program Management  Staff and observe programming, including workshops, field trips, guest panels, and special events. Lead program evaluation efforts, establishing a plan to continuously improve programming and operations Oversee SIP program administration, including budget oversight, contracts, payments/invoices, data management, and reporting  Provide direct support and professional coaching to SIP team members.  Skills & Qualifications:   Demonstrated commitment to furthering the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the work Demonstrated management and leadership skills required. Proficient tech and computer skills in Microsoft Office required. Experience in Outlook preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required, and ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot. Must be able to work collaboratively, manage projects and make decisions independently when appropriate. Must be extremely organized and be able to multi-task in this fast-paced work environment which often requires multiple, simultaneous deadlines to be met. Occasional evening and weekends work is required.   Significant experience with and proven ability to develop effective community-based programs focused on creative youth development and social justice frameworks and familiarity with assessment and evaluation processes and ability to apply these strategies. Must be familiar with social justice practice as it pertains to music, creativity. well-being, and arts education, representing and including the voice of community in participatory design and community engagement.   Understanding of various local community cultural interests and needs; knowledge of current NYC artists and organizations a plus

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
