The Language Technologies Institute (LTI) at Carnegie Mellon University is a world-renowned research and education hub at the forefront of natural language processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and human-computer interaction. Established within the School of Computer Science, LTI pioneers innovative approaches to understanding, processing, and generating human language in both written and spoken forms.
Our team is looking to hire an Administrative Coordinator II. This position provides assistance with the work flow within the department, supports & processes budget and other financial reports, and provides day to day operational support to administrative processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Provides administrative assistance such as coordinating meetings logistics and resources; maintaining calendars, drafting correspondence, reports, and other documents for supervisor’s signature and / or approval.
- Provides general office support by setting up and maintaining complex file systems, and supporting staff and budget related processes and work.
- Acts as a liaison or contact person with other university departments, i.e. Budget Office, Registrar, Property Management, Human Resources, etc, and with outside organizations.
- Assists in the research, preparation and processing of information.
- May oversee support staff or student workers through distribution of work and review of work progress.
- Assists in the training of newly hired staff and students and provides feedback on performance.
- Attends various meetings within the department.
- Performs related work and special projects as assigned.
