Reports to : Director of Engineering
Position Overview
The Carpenter at Carneros Resort and Spa is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work to maintain, repair, and enhance the resort’s facilities, guest accommodations, and public spaces. This role requires expertise in woodwork, framing, finishing, and general maintenance, ensuring that all projects align with the resort’s luxury standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, skilled in craftsmanship, and committed to delivering high-quality work that enhances the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair
Perform carpentry repairs and installations in guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house spaces.
Repair or replace doors, windows, cabinetry, flooring, and other structural elements as needed.
Inspect and maintain wooden structures, including decks, fencing, furniture, and decorative fixtures.
Construction & Renovation
Assist with remodeling and renovation projects, ensuring work is completed to resort standards.
Construct and install shelving, partitions, and other structural elements to enhance resort spaces.
Work from blueprints, drawings, and written / verbal instructions to complete assigned projects.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all carpentry work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and resort policies.
Use tools and equipment safely, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Identify and report potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
Collaboration & Efficiency
Work closely with the Engineering and Maintenance teams to complete projects efficiently.
Assist other trades, such as painters and electricians, when needed.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in carpentry, woodworking, or general construction.
Knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and techniques.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
Experience in a hospitality or luxury resort setting is a plus.
Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
