Job Title: Prep Cook

Job Summary:
The Prep Cook plays a crucial role in our fast casual dining establishment by assisting with food preparation and ensuring that ingredients are ready for cooking. Key responsibilities include chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and portioning ingredients according to recipes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Essential Functions:
1. Assist in food preparation activities, such as chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
2. Prepare sauces, marinades, and dressings according to recipes and portion sizes.
3. Measure and portion ingredients accurately to ensure consistency in recipe execution.
4. Organize and maintain kitchen stations, including ensuring that all necessary ingredients and equipment are readily accessible.
5. Follow recipes and cooking procedures to ensure the quality and consistency of food products.
6. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and execution of food preparation activities.
7. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
8. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies, ensuring proper rotation and storage practices.
9. Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.
10. Ability to carry trays with multiple food and beverage products including dirty dishes & glassware.
