The Communications & Events Specialist is an experienced events and project manager with a passion for planning and executing events. Responsible for a wide range of employee events as well as external events for an organization of approximately 3,000 shore side teams with the possibility of also shipboard events. This position will also support the Employee Communications team initiatives.
Essential Functions :
- Manage planning and execution of major onsite employee events and external conferences and executive meetings. Main contact day of event execution; Employee events include Food Trucks, Employee holiday celebrations, Vendor Days, Fairs and Festivals; Own event planning process from initial scope to post event briefing. Lead, execute and develop event specific communications and display materials; provide expertise in project / event management tools.
- Provide support for key projects, programs and initiatives such as Town Halls and other conferences both shoreside and shipboard; plan and execute external community relations, charity events, homeport initiatives and other events as assigned; Work with vendors to negotiate pricing and manage vendor relationships.
- Support day to day communications vehicles such as Daily Brief and other communication channels.
- Responsible for individual event budget; Assist in preparing department budgets and provide periodic reports for each event project.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders such as audio / visual teams, maintain vendor relationships.

Physical Demands : Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and / or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time.
Travel : No or very little travel likely.
Work Conditions : Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami / Ft. Lauderdale area.
