TITLE: Nursery Fulfillment Associate

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Nursery Fulfillment Associates are responsible for making sure our customers receive Carnivero’s best-in-industry purchase experience standards. Fulfillment Associates report to the Nursery Fulfillment and Customer Service Manager. This is a full time, hourly position, expected to work 40 or more hours per week. The primary responsibility of the role is order processing and fulfillment. This includes order management, picking plants from the greenhouse, preparing plants and materials for shipment and coordinating package logistics. The role will also be responsible for order related communication with customers.
In addition to fulfillment, there may be occasional opportunities to participate in plant propagation (such as cuttings and seeds), plant maintenance (such as re-potting), in-person sales and hosting or supporting live streaming sales. All team members are given the opportunity to attend seminars on advanced topics presented by Carnivero staff.
The successful candidate will act according to Carnivero’s mission, vision, core values (PEATIE), leadership behaviors, and norms and play a crucial role in implementing the same across the organization and the people you interact with regularly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes orders via the backend of e-commerce storefronts ( 5% )
- Pick and pull plants from the greenhouse ( 20% )
- Preparing plants for shipment ( 45% )
- Prepares materials for shipment (e.g. boxes, insulation and potting kits) ( 10% )
- Customer service ( 10% )
- Maintains fulfillment center and greenhouse organization and cleanliness ( 5% )
- Coordinating drop-offs and pickups of packages with UPS, Fedex and USPS ( 5% )
- Communicates plant quality and pest/disease issues with the team
- Maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Occasionally works as a sales associate for trade shows and storefront
- Occasionally performs greenhouse maintenance activities such as weeding and repotting
- Occasionally participates in propagation activities as needed (seed sowing, cuttings, etc..)
- May act as live steaming sale support staff or show host
QUALIFICATIONS:
We’re looking for someone with a high level of accountability, strong work ethic and can-do attitude. You’re willing to go the extra mile to help Carnivero grow and flourish. You may not be an expert in carnivorous plants or tropicals but have the desire to learn rapidly.
As a small company, you’ll need to wear multiple hats and roll up your sleeves to get jobs done that affect Carnivero’s business success. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all essential duties. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A love for unique plants and curiosity to learn more
- Can do attitude, willing to do what it takes to ensure Carnivero's growth and success
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to follow directions
- Strong digital organization skills (spreadsheets, Google docs, etc)
- Ability to easily receive and respond to feedback
- Great communication skills
Bonus:
- 1 years experience growing carnivorous plants, tropicals or ornamentals such as orchids or aroids.
- Nursery experience
- Previous packaging, shipping or fulfillment experience
- Good memorization skills in order to be able to identify the difference between plant varieties and healthy plants meeting quality standards.
- Customer service experience
- Experience managing an e-commerce store

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Remaining in a seated or standing position for extended periods
- Ability to work outside or in the greenhouse for prolonged periods
- Ability to bend and reach to get plants on the ground and overhead.

- Exercising a consistently high degree of accuracy when using fine motor skills
- Able to lift 25-50 pounds at a time
