Qualified Medication Aide (QMA)
We are currently recruiting for Qualified Medication Aides (QMAs) to provide routine medication administration and personal care for residents at Bridgewater Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies.
Job Summary:
The QMA will be responsible for providing high-quality resident care, administering medications in accordance with physician's orders and state/federal regulations, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications in accordance with physician's orders and state/federal regulations
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration, including charting and documentation
- Perform basic nursing care functions as required, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Provide personal care and treatment functions for residents, including wound care and vital sign monitoring
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
- Participate in scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain certification and enhance the quality of care
Requirements:
- High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
- Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter such a program and graduate within 120 days from date of employment
- Understanding of medication administration procedures and successful completion of a state-approved training course
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
