What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foster Care Coordinator position at Carolina Adoption Services?
Regional Foster Care Coordinator – Carolina Adoption Services is seeking foster care coordinators for regional specific services. These team members will meet with families and children providing compliance with regulations, adherence to the plan of care for the child and serve as a team member to support the best interest of the child.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor Degree required and Masters preferred in social work, counseling, or other related field
- Knowledge of child welfare, child development, family systems and successful positive behavioral change are important concepts
- Clinical skills that support child focused assessment of need, plan of care development, and community engagement skills
- Ability to collaborate with agency team and external team members to provide excellence in service delivery, assure adherence to regulations and accreditation requirements in practice and documentation
- Requires excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must reflect sensitivity and responsiveness to client needs and to cultural differences present in the agency's service population
- Social Worker II status preferred
- Previous experience in foster care services is preferred
- Trained/Certified to lead TIPS-MAPP/TIPS-Deciding Together is optional
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports successful placement of children in foster care to support their best possible futures. These will include foster care, long and short term, reunification and adoption
- Knowledgeable of all regulations and ability to integrate into practice
- Skills to complete monthly home visits to support successful placements
- Supports continual licensure of foster families with the team and training staff
- Completes mutual home assessments and foster home licensure with clinical integration of information
- Supports foster family recruitment efforts throughout NC
- Position may be remote with virtual agency engagement
- Part time position with hours congruent with the number of foster homes and children on the case load
- Successful completion of background checks, driving records and other clearance required.
- Travel and valid driver’s license are required
- Must be passionate about serving the best interest of children, families and the agency mission
- Other duties as assigned
