Job Summary:
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) will serve as the first point of contact for clients, both in person and over the phone/email/text, and play an integral role in creating a positive and welcoming environment for pet owners. This role involves answering inquiries, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and assisting with various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for helping others, and an ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet clients with warmth and professionalism, both in-person and over the phone.
- Schedule appointments for veterinary services.
- Answer client questions and provide information about services, products, and procedures.
- Manage patient records and ensure they are up to date in the practice management system.
- Assist with processing payments, including billing and insurance claims.
- Address client concerns or complaints with empathy and direct them to the appropriate team members for further assistance.
- Handle the check-in and check-out process for clients, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Communicate effectively with the veterinary team to relay important information about client needs and patient care.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized reception area.
- Help with administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and office organization.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a veterinary or healthcare setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic with both pets and their owners.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using computers, including practice management software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a veterinary office or animal care setting.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical billing, and insurance procedures.
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish, etc.) are a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
