Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technicians to join our Veterinary Ophthalmology team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, along with the technical skills necessary to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to a variety of animals. This role requires a strong work ethic with a proactive approach and the ability to work well with others. Prior ophthalmology experience is NOT required.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinary ophthalmologists during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze samples.
- Provide nursing care to animals, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate and adequately communicate with pet owners.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic.
- Assist in the preparation of animals for surgery and monitor animals under anesthesia as well as post-operatively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a veterinary technician is required.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor with animals and clients alike.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members.
- A certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is desirable but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
