Customer Service Associate Medical Equipment and Supplies

Basic Function

Responsible for the activities associated with providing quality customer service; greeting customers, assisting customers with purchase or rental of home medical equipment and/or supplies within the established corporate guidelines.

Duties                 

1. Enter appropriate data information from customers and referral sources.
2. Be knowledgeable concerning Medicare/Medicaid/private insurance coverage and requirements.
3. Knowledge and implementation of all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to area of assignment.
4. Convert orders into invoices; print and route copies as appropriate.
5. Maintain adequate stock levels to insure all products are sufficiently available.
6. Verify all order information for accuracy before entering into the computer.
7. Track sales/referrals leads for future follow-up.
8. Instruct and demonstrate use of home medical equipment and supplies.
9. Fit and instruct prosthetic and orthotic appliances as certified/trained.
10. Promptly assist customers with products and services.
11. Provide quality customer service to the customer.
12. Promptly answer multi-line telephone.
13. Have a general knowledge of all company products, services and locations.
14. Act in a professional manner at all times to customers and other employees.
15. Interact as needed with other departments and locations regarding products and services.
16. Operate standard office equipment.
17. Keep work areas neat and clean.
18. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
19. Comply with HIPAA policies and procedures.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.
