Summary: To supervise and improve the operations of the Blending department for both the assigned shift and others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise and develop Lead Blending Technicians and Blending Technicians.
- Manage daily operations of Blending.
- Ensures that policies and procedures are followed, and that personnel are properly trained.
- Ensures completion, documentation, and verification of master sanitation schedule tasks.
- Completes disciplinary action and documentation as required.
- Promote a safe, positive, productive work environment.
- Ensure blending technicians stay on task and manage time efficiently.
- Communicates directly with other departments (production, shipping, procurement).
- Assists with making batches.
- Tests/Unloads sugar, alcohol, juice (bulk ingredient) tankers.
- Tests batches in the lab as required.
- Makes sure the team has proper PPE and consumables available to them.
- Report any shortages to Manager for re-order.
- Performs CIPs on batching equipment and storage vessels.
- Contributes to continuous improvement efforts regarding processes and equipment.
- Ensure employees are working safely.
- Enforce procedures regarding Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure sanitary production, highest level of quality according to customer specifications.
- Communicate directly with customers.
- Manage batch room projects.
- Submit and follow up on all work orders.
- Create batch sheets.
- Maintain adherence to standards set forth by FSMA.
