Position: Dock Coordinator
Status: Full time - day shift
Hours: 8am - 5pm
Schedule: Saturday - Wednesday
Summary: The Dock Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the inbound and outbound processing of trucks to ensure a smooth flow and timely processing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Check staged loads daily to ensure orders are able to be shipped and are not missing product
- Sign-in/Sign-out trucks for in compliance with the company truck check-in/out SOP
- Identify trailer sizes and communicate to forklift operators on load sheets
- Sign drivers out with correct BOL’s to match load and destination
- Ensure all drivers have the correct load and that the load/equipment is securing prior to going to a dock (i.e. dock locks or straps)
- Ensure all drivers have valid identification to pick up load (i.e. driver's license, green card, passport)
- Ensure that all drivers have correct paperwork (inbound or outbound)
- Determine trailer status (pass/fail, good/bad)
- Communicate standard loading patterns to drivers and get approved and signed off preferred loading patterns to CBG forklift operators if different that standard.
- Communicate with warehouse supervisor or office staff regarding shipments (on time, late, other issues).
- Maintain a consistent flow with checking in trucks to ensure forklift operators can work.
- Document and communicate dock door, leveler, and restraint issues with warehouse supervisor to ensure they are serviced in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean environment around truck driveway and docks (i.e. removing debris when visible).
- This position may be responsible for inventory of products/ingredients or finished goods dependent upon location
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret in English.
- Ability to work within warehouse management system and scanning equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records with math and science skills
- 3 years Warehouse/Forklift experience preferred
Job Setting:
- This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods, walking on occasionally slippery floors, and handling equipment or materials.
- Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.
- The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular bending, stooping and lifting up to 50lbs.
- Regular standing and sitting for extended periods of time on hard surfaces
- Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral and depth perception
- Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands to finger, feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Works in a production and warehouse environment, including forklifts, equipment, and damp floors
- Frequently exposed to working near mechanical parts and exposed to vibration.
