Our Opportunity: Maintenance Line Technician
Status: Full Time Day Shift [or Full Time Night Shift]
Hours: 12-hour shift - 6a-6p [or 6p-6a]
Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)
Compensation: $24.50 - $27.50 per hour depending on experience
[Plus, a $2.00 night shift differential, if applicable]
Summary
This position is in charge of assisting in the maintenance of all plant processes in their assigned area of responsibility, maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality and productivity.
What You Will Be Doing
- Monitors activities in area of responsibility at all times during shift.
- Must learn and apply new processes and procedures in area of responsibility, as well as train, lead and communicate effectively with all co-workers.
- Responsible for evaluating and continuous improvement of processes in area of responsibility working to minimize change over times.
- Ensures that every detail and specification of each product is met.
- Follows work direction effectively, completing/overseeing all record keeping and performing all tests as required.
- Maintains spare parts inventory, notifying manager when running low.
- Maintains appropriate sanitation records, keeping track of what chemicals are used and in what concentration.
- Gives Public Relations tours and acts as spokesperson for the company when requested.
- Operates and maintains all equipment area of assigned responsibility, ensuring its working properly and as efficiently as possible.
- Responsible for preventative maintenance on equipment as well as repair work. This role occasionally includes reporting on non-scheduled days for major equipment maintenance or failures.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or required by the supervisor/customer.
- Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook.
- Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety.
What You Need to Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have strong mechanical background, including thorough knowledge in areas of maintenance, plumbing, electrical, welding, heating, and refrigeration
- Knowledge working in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of company web-based programs
- Ability to read and interpret in English.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records with math and science skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ experience in a Production environment
- Forklift certification
Job Setting
This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods, walking on occasionally slippery floors, and handling equipment or materials.
Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.
The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.
Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce. We are unable to guarantee specific positions, work schedules or work environments that do not include working around alcohol.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds frequently
- Extended standing on hard surfaces.
- Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral and depth perception
- Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands to finger, feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Works in a production and warehouse environment, including forklifts, equipment, and damp floors
- Frequently exposed to working near mechanical parts and exposed to vibration.
