Our Opportunity: Quality Control Supervisor
Status: Full Time Day Shift [or Full Time Night Shift]
Hours: 12 hour shift - 6a-6p [or 6p-6a]
Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)
Compensation: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour depending on experience
[Plus a $2.00 night shift differential if applicable]
Summary
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading the Quality Team members to ensure the products we produce adhere to a defined set of quality criteria and meet the requirements of our customers and our internal standards.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supervises a Quality Department Team to ensure the appropriate quality testing and documentation for all the products in Plant A, Plant B and Repack production.
- Coordinates, monitors, and works with Quality, Batching, and Production Team Members to ensure all company quality requirements.
- Works with Quality Manager for updating policies, SOP’s, and Quality Forms to meet company quality requirements.
- Serves as a liaison with customers and vendors regarding product quality.
- Conducts shift kick off meetings with team members to communicate relevant pass down information, safety information, and quality updates.
- Makes recommendations and improvement ideas regarding areas of responsibility and duties to meet all quality requirements.
- Ensures scheduling and coordinates proper staffing to meet quality production requirements.
- Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook.
- Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or required by the Company or Quality Manager.
- Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety as outlined in Employee Handbook.
- Creates and updates Lab SOP’s.
- Ensures all weekly and daily lab duties are completed accurately and as required.
- Create Production Sheets when needed.
- Works with other QC Lead’s to complete required QC workload and to ensure quality throughout the production process.
- Highly accurate and detail orientated.
What You Need to Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 years of experience in a blending or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret formulas and procedures
- Must have thorough knowledge of a wide variety of analytical testing equipment and microbial testing
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records with math and science skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry
- Must have thorough knowledge of a wide variety of analytical testing equipment and microbial testing
- Knowledge working in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of customer portals
- Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems
- Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations
- 1-5 years’ experience in a leadership role within the Quality Control Department in a food or beverage production facility
Job Setting
This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods, walking on occasionally slippery floors, and handling equipment or materials.
Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.
The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.
Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce. We are unable to guarantee specific positions, work schedules or work environments that do not include working around alcohol.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Extended standing on hard surfaces.
- Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral and depth perception
- Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands to finger, feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Occasionally exposed to working on elevated platforms, with fumes or airborne particles and/or toxic/caustic chemicals, and high-pressure steam.
