Vice President Of Operations

Position Summary:

The VP Operations is a hands-on executive, responsible for leading all operational functions at our 24/7 Texas contract beverage manufacturing facility, including production, blending, quality, maintenance and engineering. This role also provides daily oversight of all administrative functions at the plant, including human resources, IT, safety and training. The Vice President of Operations is a key member of the company’s senior leadership team and supervises the following roles: Director of Operations, Director of Quality/Food Safety, Director of Engineering & Maintenance, Senior Project Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager & Senior Human Resources Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead all facility operations to build and drive a leading manufacturing, quality, maintenance organization. Provide and ensure sound, consistent and standardized operational processes are built and executed upon to meet and/or exceed industry and customer requirements.
  • Ensure all aspects of the operation are operated in a safe manner and in full compliance with all regulatory and industry requirements, including GMPs, employee and food safety. Ensure all employees are appropriately trained in correct safety procedures and processes with regular measurement, follow-up and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Provide direct leadership to ensure facility is well maintained and complies with (and exceeds where possible) all regulatory, industry and customer requirements and standards regarding sanitation, quality assurance and food safety.
  • Implements programs that meet corporate goals and objectives.
  • Creates the structure and processes necessary to manage the facility's current activities and its projected growth.
  • Employ sound leadership skills to build and develop a high performance, results driven, customer focused team and culture. Develop a team-based culture using open communication and programs that lead to high employee engagement.
  • Develops and installs procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the facility.
  • Provide highly visible leadership, coaching and development of direct reports and key leaders to accomplish annual and long-term goals. Hire, train, develop, coach and evaluate staff while modeling the company’s culture and values.
  • Establishes operating policies consistent with the company’s broad policies and objectives and ensures their execution.
  • Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the management team.
  • Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
  • Ensures that all facility operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
    • Works collaboratively with the management teams of our other locations in Minnesota and Texas.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, operations, engineering or related field, preferred.
  • Must be a hands-on leader with at least 10-15 years of relevant food and beverage experience. Beverage manufacturing leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of success and increasing responsibility leading food beverage manufacturing facilities.
  • High level of competency in food safety, sanitation and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate with people at all levels of the organization. Must be comfortable on the plant floor and with customers.
  • Significant experience with lean manufacturing processes desired, but not required.
  • Possess competent computer skills with an acceptable level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization using excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage time effectively and focus on the highest priority items without getting distracted by the urgent, but less important issues.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work in wet, humid, or outdoor conditions. The employee is also exposed to varying temperatures extremes including heat and cold as the weather varies. The employee is occasionally exposed to work on elevated platforms, with fumes or airborne particles, or with toxic or caustic chemicals. This employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
