Our Opportunity: Warehouse Supervisor
Status: Full Time Day Shift [or Full Time Night Shift]
Hours: 12-hour shift - 6a-6p [or 6p-6a]
Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)
Compensation: $26.00 - $28 per hour depending on experience
[Plus, a $2.00 night shift differential, if applicable]
Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the Wearhouse and Production team along with managing, directing, and implementing operations strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of company goals, while maintaining the highest level of quality and efficiency. Candidate must be able to manage and work well with other managers and assist Warehouse Director on special projects as needed.
What You Will Be Doing
- Ensure that the new production line initiatives meet organizational objectives this will include changes to technology and systems, changes to business processes and changes in organizational structure and job roles.
- Strive to achieve quick adoption of change and ensure efficient understanding and training in order to achieve organizational proficiency to handle new initiatives and projects.
- Coordinate with necessary departments and work with employees on a daily basis to solve problems and create opportunities for success while developing procedures and SOPs on processes that affect warehousing and production. Responsible for evaluating and continuous improvement of these processes.
- Conduct training of production leads, dock coordinators, distribution clerks as well as inventory control procedures and ensures policies are being followed.
- Responsible for the efficient receiving, storage and distribution of all supplies, products.
- Assist in set up and control of FIFO Inventory System to ensure uninterrupted flow of product to our customers as requested.
- Recommends and initiates personnel actions of hourly employees with leads, such as hiring, performance evaluations (30-60-90), promotions, and disciplinary measures.
- Assists with training and scheduling temporary staffing for assigned production shifts and/or special projects.
- Assists and advises Director on warehouse and production schedule to ensure efficient use of warehouse and production personnel.
- Ensures the highest standards of safety and cleanliness are developed, met and maintained throughout the warehouse and production facility, and comply with audit requirements.
- Examines and monitors production operations and warehouse operations, systems and facilities.
- Attends department head meetings to keep group apprised of any issues or concerns in the warehouse or production area.
- Communicates effectively with other shifts and departments
- Maintain and strive to improve company GMP’s and Safety protocols
- Acts as liaison for production and warehouse processes for customer and vendor visits.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook.
- Adhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety.
What You Need to Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 years of experience in a blending or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret formulas and procedures
- Regular use of computer, writing, and filing required
- Knowledge working in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of customer portals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records with math and science skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems
- Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations
- 1-2 years’ experience in a Production environment is preferred, but not required.
- Forklift certification
Job Setting
This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Employees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods, walking on occasionally slippery floors, and handling equipment or materials.
Due to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.
The work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.
Alcohol is an ingredient in products we produce. We are unable to guarantee specific positions, work schedules or work environments that do not include working around alcohol.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Regular bending, stooping and lifting up to 60lbs.
- Extended standing on hard surfaces.
- Vision required: distance, close, color, peripheral and depth perception
- Frequently required to stand, talk or hear, use hands to finger, feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Occasionally exposed to working on elevated platforms, confined spaces, with fumes or airborne particles and/or toxic/caustic chemicals, and his pressure steam.
- Works in office setting, and spends time in the production/warehouse environment.
- Frequently exposed to working near mechanical parts and exposed to vibration.
