Carolina Canners supplies its stockholders and bottlers across the southeast with the highest of quality soft drinks from a very modern production center located in Cheraw, SC. Carolina Canners has expanded many times and now has a flex can line with 3 fillers, 2 bottle production lines, a fountain syrup production line, and a pasteurized hot fill bottle line all of which produce numerous packages and brands, flavors, of water, fruit juice drinks, tea, energy drinks and non-carbonated and carbonated drinks.
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with a minimum of 3 years Accounts Payable experience who will take full ownership of the A/P role while resolving any discrepancies that arise.
Job Description:
Applicant will be responsible for entering payable invoices timely and accurately. They will also be responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding issues and generating weekly reports. The candidate must have a knowledge of general accounting principles and be proficient in MS Office (especially Excel). The time allocation for this position will be 50% for Accounts Payable tasks and 50% for Corporate tasks.
The applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask and be a strong oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- To provide financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of accounts under his or her control.
- Timely monitoring of accounting emails to receive and print invoices.
- Properly coding invoices, matching invoices to purchase orders and receipts, obtaining authorization of payment, entering invoices, and processing disbursements.
- Reconciles accounts payable with statements provided by vendors and/or requests statements when needed to maintain accuracy of supplier balances.
- Reconcile accounts payable aging to general ledger and take appropriate action for discrepancies.
- Investigating and resolving account discrepancies related to processing invoices and discrepancies with purchase orders.
- Requesting the issuance of stop payments when needed and other adjustments that may arise.
- Work with suppliers and other departments within the company to resolve issues.
- Willingness and ability to effectively communicate by phone and email with vendors and/or other staff to resolve any issues that arise.
- Maintains and gathers present and past pertinent information for audits as needed.
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
- Maintains financial historical records by scanning and filing accounting documents.
- Contributes to team by providing support when needed.
- Assist with month end closing.
- Assist department with all additional requests.
- Administer the Corporate Travel and Purchasing Card Program, including maintain the website, train, assist and order cards for users, monitor credit limits, reconcile monthly statements, provide monthly journal entries and weekly reimbursement reports to accounting, provide additional reports as needed, attend webinars for continued training.
- Attending Accounts Receivable meetings for reporting and audit purposes.
- Assist with Capital Project Tracking and Reconciliation, Fixed Assets Maintenance, Fixed Asset Additions, Disposals, and Depreciation.
- Attend Balance Sheet Review Meetings
- Assist in maintaining Policy, Procedure, & Work Instruction Manual.
- Assist in Corporate Internal Audits and Projects.
- Cross Train on Accounting tasks to provide support as needed.
- Maintain Desk Records and Work Instructions for job duties.
Requirements
- Associate degree required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Use appropriate business communication, both verbal and written.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in AP
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain positive and helpful working relationships with co-workers and other functional areas throughout the company.
