We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chiropractic Assistant to join our team. Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient intake, managing medical records, and performing clerical duties to maintain an organized environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with the intake process, including collecting personal information and medical history.
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using computerized systems, including Athenahealth.
- Process medical billing and coding tasks as needed.
- Handle medical collections efficiently while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Support the chiropractic team in developing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans and office policies.
- Utilize knowledge of dental terminology when necessary to assist with cross-disciplinary communication.
Skills
- Experience in a medical office setting is preferred, showcasing familiarity with daily operations.
- Proficiency in computerized systems, particularly Athenahealth or similar software.
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing practices to ensure accurate processing of claims.
- Strong clerical skills with attention to detail for maintaining organized records.
- Ability to understand and implement care plans effectively for diverse patient populations.
- Familiarity with medical collection processes to support financial aspects of patient care.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- A background in inhalation therapy or related fields is a plus but not required.
