Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle administrative tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient service delivery, particularly in geriatrics and urgent care settings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and patient care practices.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding various body systems.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is a plus but not mandatory.
