Purpose: The Maintenance and Facility Associate is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of the manufacturing facility's equipment, infrastructure, and grounds. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, assisting in facility repairs, and ensuring a safe and clean working environment. The associate will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and maintaining operational efficiency in the facility.
Skills and Competencies
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training or certification in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
• 2 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, boiler and plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, bottling lines, tools, and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, fire safety, and other facility management systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying temperature conditions.
• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination for handling tools and equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods.
Work Schedule:
Full-time; Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend shifts as required.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance:
• Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment (e.g., conveyors, motors, pumps, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to minimize production disruptions.
• Regularly inspect equipment for wear, damage, or malfunctions and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities and equipment repairs.
Facility Maintenance:
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility's infrastructure, including HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Repair and maintain building structures, such as doors, windows, flooring, and walls, as needed.
• Assist in overseeing contractors for larger maintenance projects, including electrical or plumbing repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all facility maintenance activities.
Health and Safety:
• Ensure that all work areas are safe, clean, and organized by following company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Identify potential hazards and take corrective actions to eliminate safety risks.
• Conduct routine fire safety, emergency response, and facility safety checks.
• Maintain safe use of tools, equipment, and materials, reporting any unsafe conditions or practices immediately.
Inventory and Supplies:
• Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
• Order and replenish stock as needed to ensure all necessary materials are available for timely repairs and maintenance work.
• Track usage of tools and materials, maintaining proper records for the maintenance department.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Coordinate with the production team to schedule maintenance tasks during non-peak production times.
• Collaborate with the facilities manager and other departments to improve facility operations and address maintenance concerns.
• Provide feedback and recommendations for improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.
• Prepare reports on equipment performance, facility conditions, and maintenance activities.
• Assist in updating maintenance schedules, work orders, and equipment manuals.
