Financial Analyst Assistant
The Financial Analyst Assistant supports the finance team by gathering, analyzing, and processing financial data related to manufacturing costs, budgeting, and accounts payable/receivable. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks while supporting operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Assist in compiling financial data, including production costs, ingredient pricing, and operational expenses.
- Support the preparation of financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.
- Analyze variances in raw material, packaging, and production costs, identifying trends and anomalies.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities by collecting and organizing relevant data.
Costing & Supply Chain Support:
- Work closely with the finance and operations teams to track and evaluate cost fluctuations.
- Assist in maintaining cost models for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
- Support cost-benefit analysis for new products, process improvements, and supplier negotiations.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Assistance:
- Verify and process invoices related to raw materials, equipment, and overhead expenses.
- Support reconciliation of financial transactions and assist in resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with vendor payment tracking and ensure timely processing of invoices.
Administrative & Compliance Support:
- Maintain financial records and assist with audits related to manufacturing costs and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and internal financial controls.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial documentation and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a finance or accounting support role, preferably in manufacturing or food production.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or ERP systems), and data analysis tools.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines, and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge: Understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting, and AP/AR functions.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based within the food manufacturing facility, with occasional interaction in production areas.
