Location: This position is based out of our main office in High Point, NC, with regular travel to our second office in Greensboro, NC.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable Custodian and Maintenance Technician to oversee and maintain the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of our two office locations, including the buildings, parking lots, and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine cleaning, light maintenance, and general upkeep to ensure a safe, clean, professional, inviting, and fully operational environment. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Tasks:
- Lobby/Common Areas: Sweep, vacuum, mop floors, dust furniture, clean windows, empty trash, maintain entrance cleanliness, and check air fresheners.
- Bathrooms: Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, and walls; replenish supplies and empty trash.
- Women’s Restrooms: Maintain sanitary disposal units and restock sanitary products.
- Stairwells & Elevators: Clean, sanitize handrails, empty trash, and ensure lighting is functional.
- Event Spaces: Clean floors, furniture, walls, windows, and AV equipment before and after events.
- Office & Kitchen Areas: Dust, sanitize surfaces, empty trash, and clean appliances.
Light Maintenance Responsibilities:
- Replace light bulbs, batteries, filters and air fresheners as needed.
- Perform minor repairs such as fixing loose fixtures, tightening screws, or patching small wall blemishes.
- Report larger maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate team to include but not limited to; IT, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.
- Conduct routine checks on facility systems (e.g., ensuring restrooms and sinks are functioning properly).
Weekly Tasks:
- Deep clean restrooms, common areas, stairwells, and event spaces.
- Sanitize high-touch areas and perform spot-checks for maintenance issues.
- Vacuum or clean upholstered furniture and sanitize trash receptacles.
Monthly & As-Needed Tasks:
- Deep clean grout, scrub flooring, and sanitize high-touch areas.
- Clean HVAC vents, ceiling fans, and high surfaces.
- Address emergency cleanups and report maintenance concerns.
- Support special event preparation and post-event cleanup.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and equipment, maintaining accurate records and reporting shortages or repair needs.
- Remove trash and debris, maintain clear walkways, and ensure the exterior areas are safe and inviting.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in facility maintenance, janitorial work, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic handyman skills for minor repairs and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning schedules.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
