Overview:
We are seeking licensed clinicians to provide school-based mental health services in various elementary, middle, and high schools within Anderson County. As a school-based counselor, you will be responsible for enhancing the behavioral, social, and emotional development of students in K-3 to 12th grade. This includes completing assessments, individual counseling, family counseling, crisis/risk assessments, and group counseling for students according to their treatment plans. Our team treats an array of disorders that include Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Trauma-Related Disorders, and Conduct Disorders.
This is a part-time/1099 contractor role. Our ideal staff is someone who's available to work at least 15-20 hours a week with the hours being 7:30 am - 3:30 pm (or later if needed).

Responsibilities:
- Providing individual and family therapy (when appropriate) for each youth referred in the assigned schools during the school year. Option to provide office-based therapy during the summer where available.
- Develop treatment plans, implement interventions, review outcomes, revisit/revise strategies, and employ other methods compatible with agency principles and practices.
- Conducts initial diagnostic assessments and crisis and/or risk assessments.
- Assesses students referred by staff for the presence of mental health disorders according to DSM-5 criteria.
- Maintains regular contact and collaboration with the parent/guardian, teacher (s), and administrators of each assigned student.
- Provides consultation for school staff regarding mental health issues including classroom observation and appropriate service determination.
- Completing necessary meetings, supervision, CEUs, and documentation to keep licensure current in the State of South Carolina.
- Maintain clinical records and completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner according to South Carolina Medicaid.
- Conforms to all rules and regulations regarding documentation and billing Medicaid for clinical services provided.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
- Have at least one (1) year of documented experience working with children and adolescents; and experience in community or home-based mental health counseling
- Be independently licensed or license eligible as an LPC, LPC-A, LMSW, LISW-CP, or LMFT in South Carolina
- Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse cultures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license, vehicle & laptop
- Tech savvy and proficient in working with electronic applications/electronic health record
- Familiar with using ICD-10 codes for clinical diagnoses
- Certified or specialized in EMDR, PCIT, Play Therapy, TF-CBT, DBT, Family Systems, Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and/or drug/alcohol abuse (preferred but not required).
