Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse and distribution center. This position involves handling materials, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring timely shipping and receiving processes. The Material Handler will contribute to maintaining a safe and organized work environment while supporting overall warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of computer WMS system
- Ability to operate a RF scanner to receive and track inventory as well as fulfilling orders.
- Adhere to "FIFO" inventory management practices
- Conduct cycle counts periodically to verify physical stock matches the recorded inventory levels in the WMS system.
- Safely operate a forklift to transport materials in the facility, load and unload trucks, stack goods in designated storage areas, and basic maintenance checks on the forklift.
- Responsible for accurately picking orders by retrieving products from designated storage areas using an RF Scanner, verify order accuracy before loading orders onto trucks, updating inventory records with outgoing shipments.
- Receiving duties such as unloading deliveries, checking incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damages, and reporting discrepancies, storing inventory in designated locations
- Previous bakery experience is preferred
- Forklift certification and ability to safely operate forklift equipment
- Accuracy in counting and verifying items, following procedures to ensure correct product distribution
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for data entry and inventory tracking
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
