Job Description: Companion Caregiver

We are seeking a bright, intelligent, and trustworthy individual to provide companionship and light caregiving for our 86-year-old mother. The ideal candidate will share her love of the arts and cultural affairs, be well-read, and enjoy engaging in thoughtful conversations on a wide variety of topics. This role involves accompanying her to museums, concerts, and other cultural events, as well as providing empathetic and attentive support to accommodate her active mind and intellectual curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship, engage in stimulating and intelligent conversations, and foster a warm, supportive relationship.

• Accompany her to cultural outings, including museums, concerts, and other events, ensuring she has an enriching experience.

• Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as tidying, light cleaning, and occasional shopping.

• Provide occasional support with pet care, ensuring her furry companion is well looked after.

• Offer empathetic support for mild memory and cognition challenges, helping her stay organized and maintaining her independence.

• Be a good listener and provide emotional support when needed.

Qualifications

• A strong interest in the arts, culture, and current affairs, with the ability to engage in intelligent and stimulating discussions.

• Well-read with a broad knowledge of literature, history, or related subjects.

• Patient, empathetic, and an excellent listener.

• Trustworthy, dependable, and attentive to detail.

• Ability to handle light housekeeping, shopping, and pet care.

• Experience with elderly individuals and an understanding of mild memory or cognition challenges is a plus.

Additional Requirements

• Availability to accompany her on occasional outings and events.

• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

• Background check and references required.
