Dexa Scan Tech needed for our busy multi-speciality medical practice in Myrtle Beach. Experience required. Hours are Monday - Thursday 745-515 and Fridays 8-12. No nights or weekends! Excellent pay and benefits!
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for measuring bone mass to determine bone health for the purpose of diagnosing osteoporosis and other bone diseases, and performs imaging examinations using established procedures with a level of knowledge acquired through appropriate training.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
EXPERIENCE: Minimum two (2) years as a Radiology Technologist
REQUIREMENTS: Must have a current ARRT license (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), CPR certification, and South Carolina licensure.

Essential Functions
- Must demonstrate current competencies applicable to job position.
- Must have a general understanding and working knowledge of radiation producing equipment.
- Maintain equipment and inventory and place medical supply orders as needed.
- Must possess analytical abilities and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of basic radiology technician principles and protocols.
- Knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
- Good communication skills, capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms, ability to adapt to various situations and procedures.
- The candidate must have the skills to produce high quality bone density images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
- Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques.
- Skill in appropriate use of universal precautions, safe workplace and confidentiality methods.
- Skill in health information management by appropriately charting patient data.
- Ability to work effectively as team members with physicians and other staff.
- Ability to appropriately interact with patients, families, staff and others.
- Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands and work under stressful situations.
- Must be able to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians, and nursing personnel.
