Job Summary:
Supervises and coordinates the activities of the department and oversees the quality of work performed. This is a working supervisor position.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Organizing and overseeing the department schedule.
· Ensuring the department complies with company policies and safety standards.
· Coordinating with Human Resources Director to respond to employee concerns or complaints.
· Providing initial and ongoing training and learning opportunities.
· Promoting team building, education and leadership of clinical staff.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Interviewing patient to determine medical problem/condition and documenting in patient’s chart.
· Obtaining and recording patient’s height, weight, and vital signs.
· Assisting physician with patient examination as needed.
· Reviewing physician’s orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patient.
· Cleaning and dressing wounds.
· Administering specified medication orally or by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection; documenting time and dosage in patient’s chart.
· Maintaining medication and immunization history.
· Performing electrocardiography and respiratory testing.
· Collecting samples such as blood, urine, and sputum for testing.
· Disinfecting exam rooms after each patient visit.
· Maintaining supplies; ordering supplies; disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
· Responding to patient telephone inquiries.
· Coordinating referrals through insurance and other physician offices.
· Maintaining patient records for Quality Assurance measures; assisting clinical staff in achieving value based care quality measures.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to manage and supervise a diverse population including remote and on-site workers.
· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; English grammar and usage.
· Ability to read and interpret medical procedures and terminology.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
· Possess working knowledge of OSHA regulations and procedures.
Education and Experience:
· Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN college or university,
· Two years of supervisory experience in a medical setting, or the
· Equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that would provide the required skills and abilities.
Licensure/Certifications:
· Must hold and maintain LPN or RN licensure in the State of North Carolina.
