Commercial Bankruptcy Attorney

We are looking for a commercial bankruptcy attorney for a well-established firm in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate has bankruptcy experience and is looking to help an expanding bankruptcy team. Must be licensed and located in South Carolina but hybrid or remote work is a possibility.

Sample Job Responsibilities:

• Meet with clients for intake interviews
• Ability to handle bankruptcy files from beginning to end
• Assist businesses in bankruptcy and default services
• Represent Creditors in bankruptcy cases
• Handle various parts of Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases

Minimum and Additional Qualifications:

• A JD from an accredited law school and a member of the SC Bar in good standing
• Ability to express arguments and conclusions clearly and logically
• Strong research, organizational and analytical skills
• Detail-oriented, hardworking, and results-driven team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understand the consumer bankruptcy process including all steps of Chapter 7, 9, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases
• Chapter 11, reorganization and/or restructuring experience preferred
• Strong understanding of Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11 (including Subchapter V) bankruptcy procedures
• Recent Bankruptcy experience is required
• Experience Foreclosure and Default services a plus
