CLA has an immediate need for an experienced Complex Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant in Charleston, SC. This position will handle legal administrative assistant duties and general office administration duties as well. This position also requires handling sensitive matters with discretion.

Sample responsibilities :

  • Pleasantly and professionally answers and properly routes incoming calls, takes clear telephone messages
  • Answering case intake calls and interviewing potential clients
  • Calendar and travel management
  • Create initial client files, send out client information packets, and enter records into the case management system
  • Maintaining records, case documents, and files
  • Obtaining documents from clients
  • Assist attorney and paralegal in legal document preparation and drafting including pleadings, motions, trial documents, etc.
  • Must be comfortable with e-filing
  • Complete general administrative support as needed
  • Complete special projects as requested

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, and / or Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • 1-5 years of experience as a legal administrative assistant
  • Mass Tort, Class Action, or Complex Litigation experience is preferred
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Able to think clearly and prioritize workload
  • Have excellent organizational skills
  • Be a team player
  • Work well under deadlines and in a fast paced- high-pressure environment
  • This position may require working more than 40 hours a week to perform the essential duties of the position. Travel and lifting boxes of documents may be required.
